Relationship between Pressure and Height of Mercury Column

The relationship between pressure and the height of a mercury column in a barometer is based on the principle of hydrostatic pressure. The height of the mercury column in a barometer is directly proportional to the pressure exerted by the column of mercury. In other words, the greater the pressure, the higher the height of the mercury column.
